You will be exploring the accessible parts of the UNESCO-listed Old Town. Wander through cobblestone streets and get thrilled by ancient walls of Diocletian’s Palace and Diocletian’s Cellars. If you are lucky enough, you can also catch the Roman guards at Peristil! But what I really recommend you – just get lost in the narrow streets of the old town. No plans at all (or tight time schedule), just let the path lead you wherever you feel as you want to explore. 

Of course you did not come all the way to Dalmatia to just see the city, there will also be a lot of beach days! You probably heard that Split is not really known as a place with many accessible beaches, but do not worry, I have found a few of them in the city as well as more hidden ones in nature. Which only means you can relax more exclusively – without the big crowds – just you, the sun and the turquoise Adriatic Sea.

Fresh strawberries? Yes, please.

You would really miss out on the whole spirit of Dalmatian culture, if you didn’t visit the green market, located right next to Old Town and Riva promenade. The friendly voices of local vendors calling out their freshest produce, the sweet scent of strawberries in spring, and the colorful displays of fruits, vegetables, and flowers create a pretty interesting sensory experience. If you are in the mood of talking with them (or even becoming friends with them), just give them a kind smile and they will confidently talk to you or offer you the fresh fruits to try.
