The Story Behind Accessible Horizon
Exploring the World outside the borders of Slovenia has always been my passion. In my last job, I witnessed something truly transformative: disabled people having that spark in their eyes when given the opportunity to do things that many non-disabled people take for granted: Reaching Peaks to watch the sunset, having wine on the beach and visit new places that they did not see yet easily.
Seeing their joy, confidence, and sense of freedom grow through these experiences touched my heart deeply and completely changed the way I thought about travel. That’s when the idea to organize travel opportunities that could bring this joy back into their lives was born.
I spent years working in the travel industry, organizing adventures for people from all walks of life. But I kept hearing stories from wheelchair users about how inaccessible the world felt to them. It broke my heart. Travel should be for everyone, and I knew something needed to change.
That’s why I founded Accessible Horizon. My dream is to create a travel experience that truly includes everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. To make this dream a reality, I dedicated myself to understanding the unique challenges faced by travelers with disabilities. I’ve had countless conversations with wheelchair users, listening to their frustrations, their hopes, and their needs. Those discussions shaped the very foundation of Accessible Horizon, ensuring every trip we plan is not just accessible but genuinely empowering.
But this journey wasn’t something I took alone. Along the way, I met Christof. He’s a brilliant marketing and e-commerce expert who shares my love for travel and adventure. We crossed paths in Split, Croatia—a place we both dreamed of living, right by the sea. Split became our home and the birthplace of even bigger dreams: to build Accessible Horizon and to one day sail around the world together.
Christof has been my greatest partner in making this dream a reality. While I focus on building inclusive travel packages, he ensures our mission reaches those who need to know about it. Together, we’ve poured our hearts into this company, driven by a shared belief that travel should leave no one behind.
At Accessible Horizon, every itinerary, every partnership, and every destination we design is meant to open doors for people who’ve long been excluded from the joys of travel. My ultimate goal is to prove that no horizon is too far and no dream is out of reach.
I believe that this world is meant to be explored—by everyone. And I’m here to bring that spark of joy into everyone’s eyes.
Let’s create unforgettable adventures, together.
